Landing Pages Help Land You Jobs

Apr 13, 2025

Creating separate landing pages for each service you offer is incredibly helpful in landing you more jobs. Niche specific landing pages hosted on your own website, instead of another platform, can help your SEO tremendously.  They lift your page rank for those specific search terms and this in turn makes it more likely that potential clients will find you for those specific services. The benefits don't end there.  When people visiting those pages feel like a page was made just for them and caters DIRECTLY to their needs, they’re far more likely to book.  Here's some background on how this works and how you can put landing pages to work on your own site.

Supercharged SEO

1. Improves Keyword Targeting

Each landing page can focus on a very specific set of related keywords. This helps Google rank you better for more relevant searches, instead of trying cover everything you do on your home page.

 2. Better User Experience

When someone clicks on a link for a specific service, they land on a page that talks only about that service. It is EXACTLY what they are looking for, so that increases the chances they’ll take action (like book or contact you).

3. Boosts Authority & Relevance

Google loves sites that demonstrate expertise in specific topicsDedicated service pages make your site look more authoritative because you’re not just vaguely saying you offer everything—you’re showing that you know your stuff in detail.

4. Increases Ranking Opportunities

More pages equals more chances to show up in search results. Everyone doesn't use the same search strategies when searching for something on Google. Some people start out with simple searches using only one or two words (e.g. headshot photographer), while others do detailed long-tail searches (e.g. headshot photographer for teams in Boston with hair and makeup artist).  Making landing pages for the variety of more specific queries people make gives you a chance to rank higher than other businesses only targeting the larger less specific keywords.

5. Makes Backlinking Easier

People and blogs are more likely to link to a focused resource than a general page. For example, someone writing about “how to prepare for a headshot” might link to your dedicated headshot preparation guidelines page—not your homepage.

6. Increases Internal Links

Having landing pages hosted on your own site gives you a chance to increase the number of internal links. High quality internal links can also impact your Google ranking. If a landing page does not fit naturally into the flow of your main menu I typically make at the bottom of the home page a "Services" section that lists all our services someone might be looking for and then I link to their associated landing pages.

Connect with the Client

Having a detailed landing page for each service makes people way more likely to book because it creates clarity, trust, and relevance. Here’s why it works so well:

1. It Feels Personal and Relevant

When someone searches for a specific service and lands on a page all about that exact thing, they instantly feel like they’re in the right place. It’s not generic—it speaks directly to their needs.

Imagine someone looking for event photography. A homepage that says “we do all kinds of photography” is vague.

But a page titled “Event Photography for Corporate Galas, Conferences, and Nonprofits” feels like it was made for them.  Even more so if you make a landing page for each of those types of events.

 2. It Builds Trust with Detail

Detailed pages show that you know your craft. You’re not just listing a service—you’re explaining:

  What’s included

  How the process works

  What results clients can expect

  Why you’re the right fit

That kind of clarity builds confidence—and makes it easier for someone to say “yes.”

 3. It Answers Their Questions Before They Ask

A well-designed service landing page anticipates and answers the questions people usually have—like:

  “How much does this cost?”

  “How long does it take?”

  “What do past clients say?”

  “How do I book?”

When those answers are front and center, people feel informed and are more likely to take the next step.

4. It Highlights Social Proof That’s Specific

You can tailor testimonials, galleries, or case studies to each service.

Someone considering a headshot session doesn’t care about your wedding work—but they will care about seeing glowing reviews from professionals who looked amazing in their LinkedIn photos.

5. It Removes Friction

A clear, focused landing page has one job: get someone to book, inquire, or take action.

There’s no clutter, no confusion—just a smooth path to conversion.
